Same Programme, Different Students: Same or Different Self-efficacy Effects?

Objectives and Prior Work The relationship between self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intentions, opportunity recognition and career persistence is well established in the entrepreneurship literature. In addition to being a predictor of entrepreneurial behaviour, an individual's level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) has repeatedly been shown to have a lasting legacy on venture growth and success. Therefore, fostering and enhancement of ESE is increasingly recognised as a key object in entrepreneurship education (EE) programmes, yet little is known about the actual effects of specific efforts. Therefore, this study pays particular attention to a particular programme (Enterprisers) and seeks to explore the questions: what are the impacts of a programme designed with a specific objective to enhance self-efficacy, how do these impacts differ between different types of students and over time, and, in the light of this, how they could they be cultivated and measured most effectively.
